Know Only Consciousness Exists

 Meditation of the week.

If you penetrate into your body, three layers are there: Just on the surface is your body. The body looks material, but deep down there are currents of life, prana, vital energy. Without that vital energy your body would be just a corpse. It is alive, with something flowing in it. That flowing `something’ is energy. But deeper, still deeper, you are aware, you can witness. You can witness both your body and your vital energy. That witnessing is your consciousness.

Every existence has three layers. The deepest is the witnessing consciousness. In the middle is vital energy and just on the surface is matter, a material body.

This technique says, this consciousness exists as each being, and nothing else exists. What are you? Who are you? If you close your eyes and try to find out who you are, ultimately you are bound to come to a conclusion that you are consciousness.

This consciousness exists as each being, and nothing else exists.Live with this notion. Be sensitive to this and wherever you move, move with this mind and this heart ― that everything is consciousness and nothing else exists. Sooner or later, the world will change its face. Sooner or later, objects disappear and persons start appearing everywhere. Sooner or later, the whole world will be suddenly illumined and you will know that you were living in a world of dead things just because of your insensitivity. Otherwise everything is alive ― not only alive, everything is conscious.

Batman Begins..

I’m one of those crazy Batman fans who have grown up watching the good old Batman cartoon and that classic serial on TV in which people open their windows while batman climbs on the walls of Gotham!

And if you can name all the members of Justice League and never miss a single episode of BATMAN : The animated series on cartoon network then folks, hold your breath… Batman Begins..

When I entered into the cinema hall I was overly excited and was expecting breath taking stunts and thrilling batman acts. But the starting of the film disappointed me. Director Christopher Nolan chose the Spiderman path and took nearly first half to explain how an orphan child escaped from his fears and turned into the brave BATMAN. I mean, first 20-30 minutes is ok for all this stuff, but whole first half ?? Christophersaab, I’m not here to watch a documentary on BATMAN, gimme some thunder storms, those “blew !!”, “Smash“, “Punch”, “Whew” bubbles !!

The film really took off in second half. BATMAN got all his gadgets, got his girl, got the villain ready and got me with the reloaded popcorn. In second half there were enough fireworks to make me believe those reports which claimed that the film is worth $100 millions !!

How Batman Began..
Bruce Wayne was a just another kid in his childhood until he witnessed the murder of his parents. A strong desire to eliminate corruption from Gotham city lands him into the jail. He escapes from there and gets rigorous training under a ninja cult leader. He returns to Gotham and creates his base inside a well. He overcomes all the difficulties and emerges as a super hero.

Christophersaab has taken a leaf off the James Bond book. In BATMAN BEGINS, Morgan Freeman as a Lucius Fox provides all the latest gadgets to Batman.

Michael Caine plays the character of Alfred Pennyworth, family servant of Batman. He is like a father to Batman. In a cartoon series, Alfred is humorous. But here he seems rather serious.

Now tell me, how many of you really don’t know about Tom cruise’s new girl friend?? You guessed it right. Katie Holmes plays Rachel Dawes as Batman’s love interest. But you might wonder how come Batman has a girl friend? My answer will be, why shouldn’t he ? I mean if Spiderman can have Jane, Superman can have Lois, Shaktiman can have Shanti then why can’t our Batman have Rachel ? After all, all these girls have to do is to make super hero’s life more difficult in the end by making him rescue themselves from villain’s changul.

Rachel also does nothing and appears now and then just to make sure that she is there. No, there are no bold scenes of this sexy actress. It’s a completely family affair and there is only one kiss in the end just before the credits roll out, so that mothers can take their kids out of the cinema hall while fathers wait to see if they have left anything behind.

I’d prefer not to reveal anything about the villain. I leave it for you to discover.

Something about Batman..

Christian Bale fits perfectly under the mask of Batman. Known for his unconventional and critically acclaimed roles, Christian plays BATMAN effortlessly. I didn’t like him in the first half as I’d hardly seen him on the screen before. I wished we could have much better star material like Tom cruise. But later on, Christian catches your attention and succeeds in winning your heart.

He looks rich as a millionaire Bruce Wayne and tough as a BATMAN. He has played his part very well but I still feel the need of more stylish hero. It was spidy’s web spinning style and cute face which made the character lovable, it was Tom cruise’s catch line, “This message will self-destruct in five seconds” which made mission impossible a great watch and it was Pierce Brosnan’s destructive mood which makes you come for more.

But there is no such case with the Batman. He clearly lacks the style.
Never mind, we’ll wait for the sequel.

Batman Ends..

Its time to give the final verdict.

Yes, I liked the BATMAN BEGINS. I liked it because I belong to the huge fan club of bat crazy people. But I still prefer the Batman:  The Animated Series on Cartoon Network. The movie tries too hard to be real and doesn’t try to make the character of BATMAN larger than life as other super heroes.

But what I feel is, when the character itself is imaginary then why show the reality ?

Anyways, the movie has got some good action sequences and well made sets. One defiantly misses the light humor. The movie is dark and serious.  Christophersaab could have added some relief with few lighter moments (like Spiderman 2). Alfred takes care of it in animated series.
And yes, I need more stylish BATMAN.

So, as we don’t have any good release this week, you can safely go for this movie. It entertains.

But in coming weeks, it will face a tough competition from Paheli and Sarkar.

My Verdict : * * *

(PS: Shaktiman’s girlfriend’s name is not Shanti . I faked it as I’m sure no one knows the real name. Apologies.)

Don’t Think….. Feel !

You are sitting in the garden, the traffic is passing by and there are many noises and many sounds. You just close your eyes and try to find the subtlest sound there is around you. A crow is cawing: just concentrate yourself on that crow’s noise. The whole traffic noise is going on. The sound is such, it is so subtle, that you cannot be aware of it unless you focus your awareness towards it. But if you focus your awareness, the whole traffic noise will go far away and the noise of the crow will become the center. And you will hear it, all the nuances of it ― very subtle, but you will be able to hear it.

Grow in sensitivity. When you touch, when you hear, when you eat, when you take a bath, allow your senses to be open. And don’t think ― feel.

You are standing under the shower: feel the coolness of the water falling on you. Don’t think about it. Don’t immediately say, “It is very cool. It is cold. It is good.” Don’t say anything. Don’t verbalize, because the moment you verbalize, you miss feeling. The moment words come in, the mind has started to function. Don’t verbalize. Feel the coolness and don’t say that it is cool.

We go on saying things, not even aware of what we are saying. Stop verbalizing; only then can you deepen your feelings. If feelings are deepened, then this technique can work miracles for you.

Feel: my thought

Close your eyes and feel the thought. A continuous flow of thoughts is there, a continuum, a flux; a river of thoughts is flowing. Feel these thoughts, feel their presence. And the more you feel, the more will be revealed to you ― layers upon layers. Not only thoughts that are just on the surface; behind them there are more thoughts, and behind them there are still more thoughts ― layers upon layers.

And the technique saysFeel: my thought.. And we go on saying, “These are my thoughts.” But feel ― are they really yours? Can you say “my”? The more you feel, the less will it be possible for you to say that they are yours. They are all borrowed, they are all from the outside. They have come to you but they are not yours. No thought is yours ― just dust gathered. Even if you cannot recognize the source from where this thought has come to you, no thought is yours. If you try hard, you can find from where this thought has come to you.

Only the inner silence is yours. No one has given it to you. You were born with it, and you will die with it. Thoughts have been given to you; you have been conditioned to them. If you are a Hindu, you have a different type, a different set of thoughts; if you are a Mohammedan, of course, a different set of thoughts; if you are a communist, again a different set of thoughts. They have been given to you, or you may have taken them voluntarily, but no thought is yours.

If thoughts are not mine then nothing matters, because this too is a thought ― that you are my wife, or you are my husband. This too is a thought. And if basically thought itself is not mine, then how can the husband be mine? Or how can the wife be mine? Thoughts uprooted, the whole world is uprooted. Then you can live in the world and not live in it.

13 Differences between Women and Men

If Laurie, Linda, Elizabeth and Barbara go out for lunch, they will
call each other Laurie, Linda, Elizabeth and Barbara.

If Mark, Chris, Eric and Tom go out, they will affectionately refer
to each other as Fat Boy, Godzilla, Peanut-Head and Scrappy.

When the bill arrives, Mark, Chris, Eric and Tom will each throw in
a $20, even though it’s only for $32.50. None of them will have
anything smaller and none will actually admit they want the change back.

When the women get their bill, out come the pocket calculators.

 3. MONEY:

A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs
A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn’t need but it’s on sale.

A man has five items in his bathroom: a toothbrush, shaving cream,
razor, a bar of soap, and a towel from the Marriott.

The average number of items in the typical woman’s bathroom is
 337. A man would not be able to identify most of these items.

A woman has the last word in any argument.
Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.

 6. CATS:

 Women love cats.
Men say they love cats, but when women aren’t looking, men kick cats.

A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.
A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.

A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can  spend.
A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn’t.
A man marries a woman expecting that she won’t change and she does.

A woman will dress up to go 4 shopping, to water the plants, empty the
garbage, answer the phone, read a book, and read the mail.
A man will dress up for weddings and funerals.

Men wake up as good-looking as they went to bed.
Women somehow deteriorate during the night.

Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about
dentist appointments and romances, best friends, favorite foods,
secret fears and hopes and dreams.

A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.

Any married man should forget his mistakes.
There’s no use in two people remembering the same thing.

Mystry of mind

Looking at a sunset, just for a second you forget your separateness: you are the sunset. That is the moment when you feel the beauty of it. But the moment you say that it is a beautiful sunset, you are no longer feeling it; you have come back to your separate, enclosed entity of the ego. Now the mind is speaking.

And this is one of the mysteries, that the mind can speak, and knows nothing; and the heart knows everything, and cannot speak. Perhaps to know too much makes it difficult to speak; the mind knows so little, it is possible for it to speak.

PARINEETA : A poetry

Last week-end I watched PARINEETA. I had an option to watch Mr & Mrs Smith but preferred this one. The reason was simple. I’m a great fan of Vidhu vinod Chopra. He has churned out masterpieces like 1942: A love story, my all time favorite Parinda, Mission Kashmir and recent blockbuster Munnabhai MBBS.

PARINEETA  started with a strong note. Amitabh narrated the lifestyle of Calcutta. PARINEETA has a backdrop of 1960s and the film wears a sepia tone throughout. In one of the interviews, vidhu vinod chopra said that 90% cast of the film was bengoli. Even the scenes which were shot inside the closed room were shot in Calcutta! Believe me its very authentic. When i was learning even management, my teacher used to say, "God lies in details". Seems, vidhu is well aware of this fact. Great care has been taken for detailing while shooting every single frame. Cinematography is simply brilliant.

PARINEETA is a story of childhood friends. Circumstances create misunderstandings between them but they happily unite in the end. As simple as that. You might say, I’ve seen this kind of story for some thousand times in Hindi cinema. You are right, but this film is ‘different’. I mean it. The treatment is really very different.

The girl who plays lead as Lolita, might walk away with best debutant award this time. Vidya Balan has delivered a knockout performance. She excels in every department and manages to look sexy in sari 🙂
But its saif who stills the show. In his interview, vidhu said saif wasn’t his first choice. He explicitly asked for this role. Vidhu was not sure if saif will be able to do it. But saif surely proved him wrong. He has come out of his chocolaty-confused-girl crazy kinda boy image and proved that he handle more mature roles. Sometimes, he impresses even without saying a word. His silence is enough to make the impact.
Another character who deserves a special mention is Sabyasachi Chakraborty. He plays saif’s father. He has delivered a surprise performance as a strict businessman.
Sanjay dutt doesn’t get much to do. But his screen presence is enough to make you relate with the character.

PARINEETA  is more like a poetry. Some might compare it with DEVDAS, but this one is different. DEVDAS was passionate and was sad. This one digs more into relationships. And every relationship has been handled very well.
Don’t carry the huge expectations while going for this movie. But don’t miss it.  Its definitely worth watching. Its a good cinema and a visual treat.

Talking about Check your Password Strength!!!

Check your Password Strength!!!

Check your Password’s Strength!!
Here is a unique way to check how strong and how safe your password is!!

Just go to Hotmail and click on Sign Up’ or create a new account. You dont need to actually create a new account. When the page leads you to new account creation page, in the "Password" field, enter your current password of any account. The bar below the field shows how strong your password is!! Simple!!!!

Here are some tips about making your password STRONGEST and hack-proof, be it Hotmail, Yahoo, AIM, G Mail, Rediff or any other service!!!!!

A strong password is a password that is difficult for others to determine by guessing or by using automated programs.

To create a strong password that is easy for you to remember but hard for someone else to determine, try one of these techniques:

  • Merge two or more words, and combine the words with numbers and symbols. For example: Walk[My]Dog, Po#34tato, Champions=1995.
  • Abbreviate a phrase you’ll remember. It could include numbers and symbols, or words that you can substitute with numbers or symbols. For example: I ride my bike 5 miles each Saturday could become the password Irmb5meS.
  • Use punctuation and numbers to combine the initials of people or objects from a familiar group, such as your favorite athletes, friends, movies, books, or historical figures. For example: Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, and Joan of Arc could become the password 1G,2AL,JA.
  • Drop all vowels from a favorite saying, and then add numbers or symbols. For example: Walk three dogs could become the password Wlk3Dgs.

To be strong, a password must:

  • Contain at least seven, but no more than 16, characters.
  • Combine three of the four different types of characters:
    • Uppercase letters (for example: A, B, C).
    • Lowercase letters (for example: a, b, c).
    • Numerals (for example: 1, 2, 3).
    • Symbols (` ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + – = { } | [ ] : " ; ‘ < > ? , . /).
  • Not be a common word or name, or a close variation.

Some service providers require that a strong password also:

  • Not be the same as any of your four previous passwords.
  • Not be a minor variation of your old password. For example, if your old password was Champions=1995, a new password of Champions=1996 would not be acceptable.

  • Don’t use one of the above examples as your password!!!!
  • Don’t write down your password.
  • Never give out your password in an instant message conversation or share it with anyone else.
  • If you have more than one e-mail account, for instance, one for work and one for personal use, you should use a different password for each account.

So…just go to Hotmail and check out how strong your password is!!!
